KP order

And I also ordered from KnitPicks. Both this order and the one I posted about yesterday were placed in a few moments of weakness on a Sunday, within minutes of each other. The order from The Loopy Ewe was here on Thursday, and the KnitPicks order came in on Saturday.  Can’t find fault with delivery times for either one.

A blog I read was talking about how the new needle sizers now go down to the smaller sizes that we frequently use for socks. I checked my trusty sizer that I’ve had since I was young (some 200 years) and it DID NOT have the smallest sizes. Harumph! I had to have a update on that. It only makes sense to have that.
needle sizer and markers

And while placing that order, well, as they were going to send a package anyway…….

Purple stitch markers in there.

I looked for something that Himself would wear. (Plain, blah, dull, boring)

KP Essential sock yarn in Ash

This seemed to fit the bill!!!  Plain dull gray, but he’ll wear it!!

I wanted to try out this Essential yarn, and they have some multi-colors, too.

KP Essential Multi in Tucsan Multi

There’s something here that attracted me – the teal shade? Only got 2 skeins. Enough for a pair of socks.

And then, showing more weakness……

Blue Lagoon sock set

The Blue Lagoon Sock Set with enough yarn for 5 pairs of socks.  I know I like the multi in the top corner, and the light blue, Pop will wear the dark green separated skeins, daughter will swipe the purple tweed. That only leaves that odd multi on the bottom that I’m not sure about.  But ya know, on dull, cloudy days, they might be the best pair of all to wear and brighten up the landscape!!.

I need to go knit, and/or spin.

Yarn goodies

It’s been a gray week, the kind of day today to make you feel gray, ya know? (Another trip to the dentist today did nothing to brighten things!!)

I just realized that I got some yarn goodness just before last week’s medical crisis, and forgot to post about it!!  So here’s some color!

DIC Smooshy Some Summer Sky

Focus ain’t great, but oh, look at those colors, that shading. Touch the screen so you can feel how soft it is, Dream In Color Smooshy, in Some Summer Sky

DIC Smooshy in Absolute magenta

Those Dream In Color folks do it again with Smooshy in Absolute Magenta.  I have no resistance.

Wonderful big skeins.

And then I found these.

Louet Gems in Crabapple Blossom

And I’ve started making WendyKnits Diagonal Lace Socks.  It’s working up beautifully, although picking the right size at the start would have me farther along now. I would be at the heels now, working 2 at a time, if I hadn’t realized that they were too big for me and ripped back. The pattern is fine, everyone, it’s me that messed up.

And now, I’m gonna go sit and knit.

Odd note

I use Sitemeter on this blog, tells me how many visits per hour/day/month, etc., what pages are visited, the Exit page, and often, the Referring URL and the location of the visitor.  Many people writing a blog use some form of stats-tracking, most out of simple curiosity. Guess those running a business are interested in what content generates the most hits, and the information gleaned is beneficial to their enterprise. I see many of the locations repeat again and again. The lady in MI who posts bird pictures and knitting on her blog, my friend in Australia, my grown sons and daughter, my cousin in CA who often visits but NEVER comments – I see their locations show up frequently as they stop in.

When checking Sitemeter today, I noticed something that really caught my eye. At about 10:30 this morning, I had a visitor from Pompano Beach, Florida. The referring URL showed that the visitor had been on LookyDaddy’s site before mine. OK, no big deal?   Except that I lived in Pompano Beach, FL for quite a few years, way back when sand was all still big rocks. Back when Oldies Classic Rock was “Top 40.” Co-incidence? I’ve never seen this town show up before, and while I surely could have missed it, and I don’t read the locations every day, it’s got me remembering where I used to live, and the high school I used to go to (PBSHS), and people I used to know.

It may have been a random thing, somebody cruising by that’ll not come back again, the internet equivalent of a wrong number, but it’s got me wondering.  If you come by again, leave a comment, please.
