Spring is here???

This is only a sign of hope that it will, eventually, arrive.

In early November, we took off, heading south. Daughter lives down there, and she has provided grandchildren. (Irresistible bait to grandparents!) We also booked a follow-on week at the Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC. Husband is a golfer, so….. Well, I didn”t have to twist his arm!
Our unit was about a block from the ocean, over a little canal bridge. Entrance to the golf course was even closer. There was a small restaurant/bar right on the beach with lots of tables out back. The sound of the ocean is wonderful to those of us raised on the coast! It’s like “home” should sound. On the day husband was on the golf course, daughter and I hit the outlets just north of the island. We revisited Harbortown. We walked on the beachsand. We found a cozy little bar and had a few “adult beverages.”
We’d both be willing to go back twice a week, if it wasn’t for that 11 hour drive to get there.
The afternoon sun was just going down, hitting the little tree in the backyard, and I had to take it’s picture. Well, actually, it’s not a little tree but I’ll always call it that, because I remember when it was about 18 inches tall, and very near the deck we had at the back of the house. It started on it’s own, and as it was so very close, a decision had to be made. The wood of the deck, put in by previous owners of the place, had never been properly sealed and was starting to rot. The tree would probably get pretty big. One of them had had to go.
We still have the tree.
