Clicking is dangerous

Every year, Interweave Press has their Hurt Book sale, and this year, I fell in the hole!! If it’s on sale…. well, my first husband said (there’s a reason he’s the ex- ) that I would buy a cellarful of water if it was on sale. Fortunately, I don’t have a basement here, and note that I’m not arguing with the man’s statement.

Anyway, I got a big box of books here today, and didn’t have time to photograph any of them. And I may figure out Domino Knitting tonight!

It works

Someone sent this to me (Thanks, Fred) and I thought it was the biggest crock of shit I’d seen in years. I’ve been in the kitchen a long damn time, shucked many an ear and “fed the hordes.” I’ve heard of ways to cook corn in the microwave and tried a few, just to speed things up and figuring it would keep the kitchen cooler. Best I’d found was to shuck the ears, get as much silk off as you could, put them into a large casserole dish with water in the bottom, a wet paper towel on top and I think 3 minutes per ear?

Then I got Fred’s e-mail with a link to this:

Go ahead and laugh. I know. We’ve already tried every damn cooking hint and most of them don’t work.

Go ahead and heat up your kitchen, and continue fighting to get all the silk strands off. I don’t care. I’ll do ours this way, though.

Should be thinking of the flag, but I’m not.
