Come find lots of YARN STORES!!! Wonderful stuff

Surfing around, looking at stuff, should be doing a long list of household chores.  Maybe a few will get done.  Maybe not.

Here’s what I stumbled on, and I think we all ought to add to it.  Knitmap.  Like any database, it’s only going to be as good as the quantity and quality of the information it holds.  So far, it’s a damn fine idea, and information is going into it.

I checked out two places.  First, home.  I know the stores (or lack, thereof) in this dismal area.  The information was up-to-date and accurate.  Then I tried an area we’ll be vacationing in, in May.  And I found several more places I’ll go while Pop plays golf.  This could work nicely for both of us.  If I’ve got a list of stores to check out, I’ll be happier over the amount of time he wants to spend out there hitting his balls.

Oddly, having found the lists of LYSs on Ravalry, Yarn page, and recently received a GPS device, I had been thinking that there must be some way of adding to the POI (Point of Interest) database pre-loaded on the device (TomTom)   Pop was quick to point out that the smart folks had already included Golf Courses and didn’t see the need of putting yarn stores in there.  Harumph!  We should have a way of importing all the LYS and Spinning stores into our GPSs by country!!   We have rights!!  We have credit cards.  We just need driving directions.

Anyway, check out Knitmap and add to it if you can.  It helps us all, especially those traveling, vacationing in an unfamiliar area.   Great idea.

So I fell off the wagon

Others have done worse.  So what????  It’s not like I’m an old closet drinker or something.  Geez.

I already confessed that I ordered from The Loopy Ewe, twice in a row.  Mea culpa.

So here’s the damned lovely evidence of my guilt.

Loopy Ewe Tote

I am officially a Loopy Groupie, and here’s my tote bag to prove it.  All my yarn and roving were packed inside!  The tote is a most generous size, and will show to all the world all the shit I carry around with me.  A most generous and thoughtful gift.  As my husband accurately pointed out, rewarding me for spending money insures that I will continue to do so.   (He has a degree in Economics, so he knows that kind of stuff)

Groupie Goodies and SOAK

I bought SOAK, now that I’m ass-deep in wool, I figured it was a good purchase, and Citrus is such a clean scent.  And also in my package this time, to celebrate my Groupie status, were Kisses, and a Romney Ridge Farm calendar.  The pictures are wonderful, and it’s a convenient size.

AND

There were 2 extra skeins of wool in there, 2 that I didn’t order!!   I kept looking at the pile of lusciousness I had and then to the invoice, and then back again.  Another gift from The Loopy Ewe, who is right free with the goodies.

WOW!!

It was just about this time that the husband was giving me the Evil Eye for having ordered so much stuff again.  Honest, honey, the tote and these 2 were gifts.  Yeah, right.  So I promised him a pair of socks out of this beautiful colorway.

Whew!  Slipped out of the doghouse again.
