Much of my life is out of order (or “OD,” as it was abbreviated at the Telephone Company when I worked there 40 years ago)Â
(How the hell do I remember useless shit like that?)
(Why the hell do I remember useless shit like that, but forget to pick up my medications, get milk, get ALL the ingredients I’ll need for dinner while I’m at the grocery store?)
In this case, though, I’m using “out of order” to indicate that blog posts about our trip will not be in the order in which they happened. The phone company term was for trouble reports, things that were broken. Blog posts will be in the order in which I remember things, which probably will twist the time-line into a bit of a knot.
On the way home, we re-discovered that Pennsylvania is one wide damn state.  My husband is a native Pennsylvanian, born in Philadelphia and even he forgets sometimes what a wide-ass state it is.  We were camping in Clarion County, near the Allegheny River in the western part of the state, and just about 8 hours of driving time from home.  On the way back, we stopped in the town of Lewisburg, where we used to camp. And oh, how I love this little town, right on the Susquehanna River, and the whole general area.
RED is Clarion County, where we stayed
GRAY is Union County, Lewisburg and shopping
We had been on the road for several hours, and decided to stop for an early lunch – at the Country Cupboard, a place we had been to many times with our friends, enjoyed many meals and much laughter there.  It’s a beautiful place, with gardens, gift shops, places to wander. After our lunch, we decided to take a stroll down the main street (Market Street) of Lewisburg. Neither one of us really wanted to get back into the car for another 5 hours. As we were leisurely walking along, out of the corner of my eye I saw a spinning wheel in a storefront window and did a U-turn so fast I almost pulled Pop off his feet.  So much for romantic hand-holding!  I guess I have a sharper turning radius than he does, and can reverse directions faster than an alien UFO.  I swear I didn’t know the store was there, and I know Pop will never believe that. Mad About Ewes is lovely, and full of fiber and books and wheels and spindles and, as usual, resistance was futile!!Â

A lightweight Mala spindle made by Grafton Fibers, followed me home. I couldn’t help it. Honest!!Â
And this, too. Cranberry top.  So soft.

But the real reason that I wanted to go back to Lewisburg was to visit The Celtic Exchange again.  Each time we went camping in the area, I made a point of getting in for a look at all their beautiful things. Earrings for me, for daughter, for gifts. This time I got several pair.

Wouldn’t you have bought them, too? Â
