Quarter to December

It’s the last damned day of November, and I did it.  I posted every stinking day.  Not once did I sit down and write a week’s worth of posts and pre-date them.  Each and every day, I wrote.

I’m glad there is only one November per year, and very glad it only has 30 days.

I can still sit and knit, which is the politer version of Stitch and Bitch

Not much to post about, but I’ve made it 28 days in November, and I’ll be damned if I’ll mess it up so close to a full month of posting!

I wrenched my back really well; did it so well, in fact, you’d think I spent weeks trying to get it this sore.  Working hasn’t helped it at all, as we have the crappiest, cheap chairs in there, that would aggravate a healthy back.

Spent much of the day listening to a great ’60’s radio station and knitting on the February Lady Sweater.  Maybe pictures tomorrow if we get sunlight?

On Black Friday

No Black Friday shopping.  I am still alive, proof that I didn’t go to Wal-Mart.

I read the news today.  A man was killed in a Wal-Mart on Long Island, New York, trampled to death by frenzied shoppers trying to get to the small number of great bargains inside.  Even after an emergency crew arrived, they were hampered in their efforts to aid the man by the incoming rowdy crowd.  A young woman who was 8 months pregnant was taken to a local hospital for her injuries.

Those in the crowd were reported to have said that “We have kids and they have needs, and with the economy so bad, well, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do.”

I just can’t reconcile this act with the holiday they claim to be preparing to celebrate.  I question the lessons they are teaching these children by their behavior and values.

I am ashamed to be of the same species as anyone who would say or do thing such a thing.Â
