(Had the whole damn post written and Firefox crashed – and it’s not the first time, either. Gonna have to get my favorite Tech-geek down here again) (and feed him, too!)
(Gotta remember to save posts as I write – although I believe the newer versions Auto-Save. Hint Hint Hint)
So here’s the brief 2nd try at a post, cause I’ve got less patience this time.
I’ve been near the end of a pair of socks for 2 days, and already had the next project’s yarn in my wee knitting take-along sack. Yesterday didn’t work out for knitting. Pop’s watch battery died and I thought he was going to die of wrist-watching!!! Wal-Mart wouldn’t touch it, had to go back to the department store where it was purchased, got the battery replaced, shopped about, came home to discover that Pop’s cell phone wasn’t hung onto his belt where it should be, but maybe it got dropped when he was looking at belts in the store and took his off to see what the size was. Damn, back to the store while I’m calling his number on my cell, so he would hear the “distinctive ring.” Journey songs playing under the belt rack saved the day!
Today I remembered to take a larger sized needle with me – I like to bind off with a needle two sizes bigger so that the top edge doesn’t get uncomfortably tight on the leg. Wove the ends in. And all the while, I’m thinking of what I will do on the next pair. Want something that will fit closely, an almost snug fit.
I could play with a wide rib, like a 5×1? But I liked the heel I just did. It was from one of Wendy Johnson’s sock patterns. Hmmmmm!
Checked the mailbox on the way home.

It’s Wendy’s new book – just delivered today!! (I pre-ordered it last July!) I got some of it read, some of it glanced at – hell, I was trying to cook Pop’s dinner and read at the same time. I’m not gonna waste any more time typing when I’ve got such a good book to read.
Once again, thank you, Wendy, for generously sharing your talent with the rest of us. Everyone, go to her blog and see for yourself how great her work is.Â
If you agree, tell her so! I will. Â
