Sewing notion

Published on July 12, 2009 at 7:53 pm

For years, I’ve been using a “mouse” pincushion that was my mother’s.  As her eyes failed and she could no longer see to use her sewing things, she gave many of them to me.

And last week, the local store had “sewing notions” all 50% off!!   And I thought of that sad old mouse.  And realized that I never had my very own pincushion, in all the years I’ve been sewing, all the clothes I’ve made, all the quilting.  So I splurged.

4th of July flag

Happy 4th!!  I’m celebrating by working my shift

and then coming back in 8 hours later and pulling another one.

(the pursuit of happiness part in the Declaration does not apply here)

Have a great, safe holiday!

Things that cause heart attacks in others

I am afraid of heights.  I think I’ve always been that way.  I remember being terrified of falling and heights when I was quite young.  It hasn’t gotten any better as I’ve gotten older, I haven’t been in a plane since 1983 – and only got in one then to get back home from overseas!  I don’t even like step-ladders.

So seeing stuff like this is enough to give me heart failure.

Brian and Lynn going Parasailing in Point Pleasant, NJ

That part looks like fun, riding around in a boat in the ocean right off my hometown of Point Pleasant, New Jersey.  Harnesses are a bit unnerving for the Height-Challenged, but………

This one just finished me off —–

Up, up and away

I’m going back to my sewing room and hide my eyes.

(And they had a wonderful time!)
