I Love Yarn Day!!

I don’t need to celebrate this by buying more yarn. Perhaps by starting a new project? But anyway…..

Hope all enjoy the day!

I’ve posted this on Facebook, so some of you may have already seen it.

The pattern is Summer Flies Again by Holly and Ella (no website available but they are on Ravelry) and the yarn is Verdant Gryphon’s Traveller base in colorway Bucharest. I’ve used patterns by Holly and Ella before, shawlettes that were lovely to work up, some pattern rows and some plain stockinette, enough of one to keep the knitting interesting and enough of the other to keep it relaxing. I’ll keep checking on them on Rav to see if they post more patterns!

I got my flu shot on the 1st of October, the first day they were offered at work. I don’t want to get the flu, miss time from work, and worse, I don’t want to bring it home to Paul, who would end up in the hospital with pneumonia. After 11 days of nagging reminding, I dragged accompanied him in today and he got his shot!!

We’re planning a small trip away for a few days, and picked up some things today that we want to take with us, food items that will be quick and easy to prepare, and easy on the clean-up! And he’ll take golf clubs. And I’ll take a knitting project or seven two. I need to decide what I want to work on and “cake” the yarn for it, as I don’t want to drag along a ball-winder and swift. And I’ll probably bring a spinning wheel but only one. Good thing we’re not driving up in an old ‘69 VW beetle. (Good thing I traded mine in 40 years ago!) And we still need to make a run to the liquor store!

Dog is now up-to-date on her shots and so can go to the boarding kennel; she needed it done anyway as she goes to the Poodle Spa often for grooming. She will not be a happy poodle being left there, but it’s a great place, cleaner than many homes I’ve been in, and they’ll take good care of her.

Youngest grandson is walking, before turning 11 months old. Oldest 2 grandchildren are driving. Oy!

Oh, yeah, I DID buy more yarn. Although I was at Gryphon’s just 2 weeks ago, and bought plenty, it was too early to get the October Colors of the Month, but her website did picture it and I had to have it. It arrived in yesterday’s mail.

It’s called Charleston, SC – all her Traveller yarn is titled with place names.

And I fell in love with the blues/browns combination. Already hid it in with the yarns I bought 2 weeks ago!!
